Join us for a viewing of Ermanno Olmi’s 1988 film The Legend of The Holy Drinker, a moving portrayal of hope, despair, and grace working in a drifter’s quest to return the gift given him by a mysterious stranger. Adapted from a novella by the Austrian writer Joseph Roth, and awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Olmi presents this contemporary parable as a dreamlike wander through an impressionistic Paris, following Rutger Hauer as the drifter Andreas stumbles from one chance encounter to the next.
