Here we are getting a year older or, as we always prefer to say, a year wiser. Yet another year with a2j is something truly special for us, as this means that we can continue sharing our passion for music with you. Our journey has been full of emotions, changes, and challenges. In the last five years, we have worked hard to create a project we truly believe in, focusing on melodic techno and downtempo electronica.
On the 6th of May, we are putting together a talented group of artists to create an all-night story of beautiful, eclectic, uplifting melodies, based on the full spectrum of progressive house & techno at the ????????? ?????-???? ????? ?????? ???? ?? ??????? ????.
Our line-up will be headlined by two of the finest producers of our scene: Tim Engelhardt (Stil Vor Talent, Dynamic) and Lexer (Einmusika, Bedrock), flying in from Germany for his London debut, alongside our residents and talented upcoming DJs and producers Nairo, LORRAÎNNE and Fabïan.

It's by no means a coincidence that Tim Engelhardt released his debut album on Steve Bug's Poker Flat label at the tender age of 17 years old. For his musical education began a full decade earlier when he made his first encounter with classical music theory on the piano at home. Influenced by the musical leanings of his parents, with Mike Oldfield's compositions being particularly formative, Tim soon discovered the tracks of Cologne producer Robert Babicz, shifting his focus to computers and synthesizers as the primary means of production. In the midst of a diverse new generation of young producers who'd source their inspiration from a whole range of genres, Tim kicked off his career as he released his first vinyl EP at the age of 14. It's the combination of a deep-running music knowledge and an intuitive playfulness that Tim has been cultivating since then, expressing itself in great love for harmony and expanding melodic structures, paired with an organic flow and atmospheric density. As a result, Tim's impressive output of the past years found a home on labels like Poker Flat, Cityfox, Watergate, Fryhide, Innervisions, Vivrant and, most recently, on Oliver Koletzki's Stil vor Talent, where his second album 'Idiosynkrasia' was released in 2020. His work in the studio is only one side of the coin, however, as Tim has been touring the globe extensively, playing dance floors at festivals and clubs in Australia, Africa, India, Europe and the US. Here, Tim found a home away from home in New York, where the renowned Cityfox awarded him with a permanent residency at the super-club Avant Gardner. His continuous presence in the Big Apple culminated in the musical contribution to the New York Times bestseller project 'The Outlaw Ocean' by journalist Ian Urbina. During the touring drought of the pandemic and thanks to his tireless research in the studio, Tim was able to make a name for himself as a sound engineer, upgrading the mixdowns of other artists. Additionally, he released numerous sample packs and software templates in 2021, aiding young artists in their own production quests. Tim Engelhardt's vision for the future: Art with personality – art that holds a piece of its creator at its heart. His mission is to translate the sounds in his head into reality as convincingly as possible. This explains why Tim's productions don't really sound like the standard DJ fodder, as he delivers a well-rounded musical vision to the club floor, that is just as awe-inspiring on the hi-fi system of your living room.

It is this radiant smile that immediately makes you one with the man who is taking you on a journey, on a journey that makes him so happy that he absolutely wants to share it with you. Because his DJ sets are a journey. They tell a story of letting go, of being free and happy. The natural distance between artist and audience dissolves completely with him because he is one of us. There is no VIP behaviour, no cakes are thrown because only one thing counts: the music. And it has the depth it takes to enchant people. In recent years, Lexer has become one of the best storytellers in electronic music. And not only in his sets but of course also in his productions on labels like Bedrock Records, Einmusika, Radikon & 3000Grad. No question, his deep melodic techno touches people because Lexer manages to finally give this music, which has been watered down for some years now by cheap showmanship, a soul again. For this he invests an incredible amount of heart and soul. He never stands still, but constantly works on his musical vision. His skills as a producer have developed incredibly rapidly, his DJing is close to perfection. And then he stands there on the decks, absorbed in his sound, one with the crowd, and an almost shy smile becomes this radiance because he feels how happy he makes people with what he’s doing.

One of the most creatively different DJs in the circuit, based out of the UK, London, Nabil doesn’t stop short of being a powerhouse artist.
The whole tech whiz thing is ultimately a tool that allows him to devote most of his time determining what to play and when, enchanting a crowd, making people dance—in short, delivering the kind of ecstatic communal experience that elevates playing songs to the art of DJing in a most delightful way for someone so young, and shows a maturity far beyond his years.
Experimenting and releasing music under different names and genres has kept this sonic star busy in recent years and has moreover helped him mature and glide into the spotlight with imprints such as Somatic, Awen & Steyoyoke.

Sharing her time between London and Madrid, Spanish DJ/Producer LORRAÎNNE burst into the scene during 2017.
She brings authentic and breath-taking melodies to the most powerful basslines and drums, wrapping her audience in sublime atmospheric energy that unleashes the body, captures the heart and intoxicates the mind. Celebrating continuous Beatport Top 20 chart positions with every release, LORRAÎNNE has stamped her mark on imprints including Krafted Underground, Awen and Onism.
She has been featured in magazines across the globe, including DJ Mag Spain, Vicious Magazine, Tanzgemeinschaft (Belgium) and Zone Magazine.

Fabïan enjoys sliding into the role of a musical alchemist when he approaches his craft; building eclectic, often transcendental storylines, developed through his deep devotion to downtempo and electronica.
Growing up as a jazz and classical musician, it's only natural for him to recite his roots during his DJ sets, which is why you'll often find him energising the crowd and putting a stamp on his sets with his live trumpet licks, bringing a unique foot-jamming swing to the table, as he dances effortlessly between feelings of raw intensity, emotive melodies, laced with chunky bluesy/jazzy grooves and bass-lines.
This year, after independently learning music production during the pandemic, Fabïan plans to release his first EP.

We are friends that met in London a few years ago and share a passion for music, events and immersive experiences. Our story started in a small flat in North London in 2017, organising a birthday party for friends and family, which finished with four DJs and 80 people in a small club in King Cross, April to July was born.
After experimenting with different electronic music genres, April to July found its root in the combination of melodic techno with downtempo electronica. Showcasing local and international DJs, our goal is to create unforgettable occasions through the magic of music to thrill, entertain and to build a community.
