David Leach and several guest conductors lead this local volunteer ensemble in a program of works from the classic wind ensemble repertoire, including Hindemith’s 1943 Symphonic Metamorphosis, an upbeat, splashy work based on themes by Carl Maria von Weber that was later used for a George Balanchine ballet. Also, Sousa’s Northern Pines, a march written for the National Music Camp at Interlochen (MI), and works by Irving Fine, Tielman Susato, Frank Ticheli, and Michigan composer Andrew David Perkins. Guest conductors are UM music professors Jason Fettig and John Pasquale; EMU music professor J. Nick Smith; Andrew David Perkins, Composer, Apollo Studios Music Publishing; and A2CB Assistant Conductor Matt Kazmierski, 2 p.m., Michigan Theater.
