About this Event

Stephen Harrigan (born 1948) is an American novelist, journalist and screenwriter. He is best known as the author of the bestselling The Gates of the Alamo, for other novels such as Remember Ben Clayton and A Friend of Mr. Lincoln, and for his magazine work in Texas Monthly. His articles and essays have appeared there and in a wide variety of other magazines, including Outside, Esquire, The New York Times Book Review, National Geographic, American History, The Wall Street Journal, and Slate. He was inducted into the Texas Literary Hall of Fame and has won lifetime achievement awards from the Texas Book Festival and the Texas Institute of Letters. Learn more about him here.


Weather permitting, the seating will be outside on the front lawn of the French Legation Historic Site located at 802 San Marcos St., Austin, TX. Refreshments are included with admission. Texana at Twilight is presented by the Brush Square Museums Foundation and the French Legation Historic Site. Proceeds support future community programs. A small parking lot is located at 815 1/2 Embassy Drive, but ample street parking is available near French Legation on San Marcos St., 9th Street, and Embassy Drive.
