About this Event
The Messiah by German composer Georg Friedrich Händel, one of the world’s best-known pieces of music, was premiered on Fishamble Street in Dublin on 13th April 1742.
The German Embasssy Dublin invited internationally renowned composers Diana Čemerytė, Anselm McDonnell, Karola Obermüller, Yue Song and Matthew Whiteside to respond to selected arias and recitative from The Messiah with new compositions and so the Messiah Revisited Project was born.
Led by the project’s Artistic Director Linda O’Shea Farren, these new works will be performed by Adele Johnson (viola), Rory Lynch (tenor) and Eva Zöllner (accordion).
We are looking forward to welcoming you to the world premiere of the Messiah Revisited at the Goethe Institut Ireland on Saturday,13th April, on the anniversary of the Messiah's first ever performance.
