It still often recommends conventional treatments like chemotherapy or surgery, but it also promotes health-improving advice like diet, exercise, and stress-management. Want to know more?
Come to this free presentation with Carrie Demers MD, who is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine. And bring your questions!
This event will be held IN STUDIO and ONLINE.

Saturday 2nd Session: Brain Health Now & Forever: An Integrative Approach to a Healthy Brain
All of us want and need our brains to stay healthy through the entirety of our lives. None of us want a mind that is confused, anxious, dissipated, dull, or depressed. Rather, we want our brains to stay sharp, clear, and discerning! Forever! Modern research has determined that lifestyle choices support this goal through diet, exercise, sleep, and learning. In addition, science has shown that stress plays a key role in mental health and memory. Yoga practices and meditation also have proven benefits to our brains and minds, on multiple levels. This talk is an overview of all this research, and how to apply it to our everyday lives so we can keep our brains—and ourselves!—healthy, calm, and happy.
In this session, you will learn:
What foods support and hinder brain health
How exercise lessens inflammation and supports mind and memory
How stress leads to mental deterioration, and what to do about it
The definition of Interoception, and why it's important
How focusing is essential to brain health
What happens to your brain when you meditate steadily
This workshop is a mixture of lecture and practice; please wear comfortable clothes and bring your curious mind!
Note: This is the second in a two-workshop series. Participate in one or both sessions!
Cost: Individual session $50 or $90 for the whole day.
