Meet at King's Cross Baptist Church, Vernon Square, off King's Cross Road, WC1X 9EW.
A walking tour across a district of London with a long tradition of radical and revolutionary activity and movements.
We will be walking in the footsteps of the peasants’ revolt, the Chartists, the Fenians, Lenin, Dadabhai Naoroji the UK’s first Indian MP; discussing the suffragettes' encounters with the Clerkenwell Police Court, the campaign for a statue of Sylvia Pankhurst on Clerkenwell Green and the annual May Day marches. And a bit more besides.
We will be stopping off at key points to take a closer look at radical and working-class history, with plenty of time for discussion and questions.
We will end the tour in the Crown Pub where Lenin was known to take a tipple and where it is claimed, though disputed, that he first met Stalin.
Join us, everyone's welcome.
