Discover the story of Florence Nightingale Find out how Miss Nightingale became known as the “Lady with the Lamp” with this special event for homeschoolers.
Did you know Florence Nightingale was homeschooled?
Find out how she became a nurse, why she went to the Crimea and how she improved the conditions for the soldiers and nurses. Hear her story in her own words and you can even take a picture with her.
The session begins with an interactive performance by the museum’s own ‘Florence Nightingale’ describing her life and work. This is then followed by self-directed activities in the museum. After around 30 minutes exploring the museum, the session will end with another performance from Miss Nightingale.
The session will start at 12:30. Please feel free to arrive 15 minutes before the session. The session will end at 14:00. You are welcome to continue exploring the museum after the session has finished.
Tickets are £5 (+booking fee) per child. 1 Adult per child goes free.
