About this Event
Dear LGBT Sikhs, allies of other faiths and friends,
We are humbled to be organising our first event in conjunction with Central Gurudwara Khalsa Jatha this summer (aka Shepherds Bush Gurdwara) . Please join us for a visit and a walking tour being led by Gurpreet Singh Anand which is Free and open to all. Registration is required to guage numbers and plan.
The programme is as follows
- 12 noon (approx 45 minutes) - Start at Khalsa with langar and a brief introduction to the Khalsa Jatha and its history.
- 10 minutes - Walk to Maharaja Duleep Singh’s London home.
- 25 minutes - a brief talk outside the home about the history of Maharaja Duleep Singh.
- 5 minutes - Walk to the Kyoto Gardens in Holland Park.
- 25 minutes - tour the gardens.
- 15 minutes - walk to Sinclair Gardens.
- 20 minutes - Talk on the history of Max Arthur MacCauliffe and Bhai Kahn Singh of Nabha.
- 10 minutes - Walk to Sinclair Road.
- 20 minutes - talk about the key historic figures from Sikh history who were linked to the Khalsa Jatha
- 15 minutes - walk back to the Gurdwara and everyone sits together for Tea and Samosas to reflect on the day.
Good shoes and bring an umbrella just in case.
