“A Vision for the Planet” – A Multimedia ExperienceThe renowned jazz/classical/folk guitarist, composer and singer JIM SCOTT (“Gather the Spirit,” “The Oneness of Everything,” “Missa Gaia/Earth Mass”) at UUFBR in person for not-to-be-missed concert/celebration on Friday, January 9, 7:00 PM.
Mixing powerful songs and striking projected images, “A Vision for the Planet” takes us from grieving to celebration and from protest to motivation to sustain life on our planetary home. Jim’s lyrical melodies and outspoken poetry celebrate what’s beautiful, amazing, and fragile about our Earth.

Jim has performed at more than 700 UU churches over four decades of travels and his songs are in our hymnbooks (Gather the Spirit). Formerly a member of the Paul Winter Consort, Jim was co-composer of their celebrated Missa Gaia/Earth Mass. He has gone on to tour the world and record nine CDs of original music. He was awarded an NEA grant to create and present this multimedia concert. One of the originators of the Unitarian Universalist “Green Sanctuary” program, Jim also compiled the Earth and Spirit Songbook.
