About this Event
Relive the Christmas holiday tradition of 1860s Placerville at the historic John Blair-Judge Thompson House with your hosts, El Dorado County pioneers John and Jane Blair—portrayed by living descendants of the Blair family, who built the home in 1862. The Blair-Thompson home has been fully restored and elegantly furnished with fine antique furnishings from El Dorado County and beyond. Enjoy savory hors d’oeuvres, complimentary Christmas punch, rum nog, and a selection of Christmas desserts and pastries from a bygone era. Be serenaded by Dickens Christmas carolers in 19th-century costumes, and explore a specially curated exhibit on Victorian-era Christmas traditions in El Dorado County. Finally, gather by the warm, crackling fire to listen to Christmas stories delivered by John Blair. Join us in rekindling the warmth and camaraderie of an old-fashioned El Dorado County Christmas.
