About this Event
Come experience Charles Dickens like you’ve never experienced him before. Think, the timeless tale of Scrooge but brought forward to the 1970’s. While the entire town goes about wishing everyone a “Merry Christmas” it’s a Bah, Humbug, man to anyone that crosses path's with the uptight cat, Scrooge. This lighthearted retelling of Dicken’s classic story set between the 1940’s and the 1970’s is full of camp, funk, and holiday cheer. Scrooge will still learn the value of kindness and generosity, but along the way, audiences can expect bright costumes, funky music, and plenty of laughs.
Dig this, my man:
So there’s this Elizabeth Scrooge — real square, all about the bread, no time for good vibes or holiday cheer. She’s colder than a disco floor at sunrise.
One Christmas Eve, three far-out spirits drop in on her. First ghost rolls up and shows her, her groovy past, back when she wasn’t such a drag. Then the next ghost lays down the Now-scene — people partying, feeling the love, while Scrooge is out there solo, like a busted 8-track. Finally, the last ghost is all heavy, showing her a bleak future where nobody digs her ‘cause she never spread the good vibes. Choices sister, we gotta make 'em and consequences follow regardless, even when we don't. Will Scroge rise to meet her's? Come and find out in this radical retelling of a familiar classic, set to disco!
