Join the Lorain County Metro Parks for an exciting and educational journey through the stars at A Universe of Wonder! This family-friendly astronomy program is designed to inspire curiosity and awe as we explore the vast and mysterious universe. Whether you're a seasoned skywatcher or new to astronomy, this event offers something for everyone. On Saturdays and Sundays from March 8-23 we will host an afternoon of space exploration fun at the Lakeview Park, Sunset Terrace at 1800 West Erie Ave. in Lorain. This free program will run from 1-5 pm and registration is not required. EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Interactive Sky Tours: Experience a unique digital view of the night sky through a Giant Telescope. This augmented reality telescope allows users to identify constellations from their current position, rotating a full 360 degrees.
Star Lab Experience: Crawl inside our portable planetarium to learn about space and its unique elements! Programs will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 2, 3, and 4 pm with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kid-Friendly Learning Stations: Engage in fun and educational kids crafts and activities, from creating star maps and learning about the phases of the moon to taking a hike along the Solar System Walk.
Guest Speakers: Hear from expert astronomers and space enthusiasts who will share fascinating facts about the universe.
Storytelling: Enjoy celestial story time for children with out of this world stories and lessons about the cosmos we call home.
Night Sky Viewing: After the activities, enjoy a calm evening under the stars. Take in the beauty of the night sky and perhaps catch a glimpse of a meteor shower or a passing satellite.
