A TRIBUTE TO GRAM PARSONS
Celebrate the music of Gram Parsons–from the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels, and the Flying Burrito Brothers, to his solo work and his duets with Emmylou Harris. Due to the Grand Theft Parsons movie most people are only aware of his death and failed cremation in Joshua Tree Park. However, he was a stand-out musician in an era of incredible cultural creativity spanning the 1960’s and 70’s. He played a large role in introducing country music to the rock scene. Parsons disliked the term “country rock” and he called his style of country music “American Cosmic Music.”
