Milwaukee Chamber Theatre celebrates the remarkable 98-year life of co-founder Ruth Schudson even as we mourn her passing. Audiences, artists, friends, and family remember Ruth for her prodigious talent, great grace, tremendous generosity of spirit, kind friendship, and the ever-present twinkle in her eye that bespoke the joy with which she approached every aspect of her life.Ruth left strict instructions that no memorial should be held, as she couldn’t imagine a better celebration than the 2011 launch of the Leading Lady Fund named in her honor (which still supports women performing at MCT today). In accordance with those wishes, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre instead invites any artists, audience members, or others of Ruth’s community to join us on Monday, January 13th from 6-8p in the Broadway Theatre Center bar where we’ll raise a glass to Ruth (first one’s on the house!), and share stories of her indelible impact on our community.
