New date of 19.01.25 - the previous date of 8th December was postponed due to severe weather conditions.
On Sunday 19th January, Alison and Becky from Soul Systirs will be hosting a charity Spirit Doll workshop in aid of the Palestinian people.
A Thread Of Hope
A one day workshop to invite us to turn inward, to the presence of Love and Compassion that resides in the Heart and to manifest that in loving action.
In this one day workshop, where we will be working in sacred space. We will be creating a spirit doll in the Motanka style to hold our prayers and intentions of love, support and peace to all those suffering great loss and hardship through war, hatred and violence particularly in the Middle East, but it will also serve as a focus for our prayers for all in distress.
The doll will be dressed using some beautiful hand embroidered material created by the women of the Balata Refugee Camp in the West Bank, specifically from a group at the Yama Cultural Centre. As we work with this cloth, we will be invited to add our stitching, our making, with theirs, to feel them in circle with us, to support them with our connections and our prayers.
The doll itself will be made in the Motanka style from Ukraine. As we make the doll we will hold circle for the women of Ukraine too, who are also suffering. We will tie the doll together with red thread a reminder that “Good recognises Good” (Meggan Watterson), that we are all connected, that we each hold a part of the thread and that we are called to turn up for our part. As we wrap the thread the invitation is to ask, “What is my role, how can I be the Love I wish to see in the world?”
The doll will contain medicine including sacred oils and crystals, that will support these connections, prayers and questions.
The day will include refreshments and a vegetable soup.
