About this Event
a Third Place October (Black History Month special)
After the success of our Black Queer Gathering last year, join us for a special gathering for Black History Month, celebrating and connecting the Black LGBTQIA+ community in Scotland. This in-person event will be held on Thursday, October 10 at Transmission Gallery.
This event aims to create an inclusive space where we can enjoy our culture, meet people from similar backgrounds and eat good food. Anyone Queer Person of Colour is welcome but the event will be focused on celebrating Blackness.
There will be African foods, music and a film screening from 6:30-7:30pm. There will be also be a seperate quiet space available for those who need it.
Important information
If you need travel expenses reimbursed we can do this for you, just keep your receipt and bring it along with you. If there is anything else that would help you to access the event then please let us know.
If you have any questions or want to talk to Mahasin about additional support please email them at [email protected]. They will also be at the workshops to help out and offer support to those who need it.
We hope to find more ways to make events better and sustainable therefore, we are trialling donations for tickets if you would like to contribute to the cost of running Exhale events. We currently get funding for a Third Place but it does not cover everything and often have to rely on a lot of free labour and help from others in the community. If you would like to donate you can do so here.
Cancellations
Please cancel your ticket if you are no longer able to attend, we ask that you do this 48-24 hours before hand so that the space can be given to someone else and so we know how much food we need!
