About this Event
When SF playwright Eugenie Chan set out to find out more about her family’s involvement in San Francisco's Hip Yee Society, a once notorious gambling and prostitution tong, her discoveries surprised and inspired her to tell the story of a family chasing the American Dream in 1920s Chinatown –The Truer History of the Chan Family.
At this gathering, Eugenie will introduce you to The Truer History and invite your participation in a singalong segment of this feature film debuting in 2025.
Come on in, have a snack, and take a peek through this tiny window into a bigger story of the Chinese in America! Refreshments will be served.
A Production of Eugenie Chan Theater Projects.
