About this Event
In 2015, St. James Anglican Church's Archival Committee began organizing and preserving its archives, some dating back to the 1820s. During this process, it became clear that the church had strong historical ties to Fenelon Falls, with many early residents playing key roles in its foundation. One significant discovery was the influence of pioneer artist Anne Langton on the church's development, both artistically and culturally.
The committee applied for and received funding through the Digital Museums of Canada – Community Stories program, which helped preserve these important narratives and highlight the value of community-driven heritage projects.
Join Beverly Jeeves and Peter Oliver as they discuss the project, their experience with Digital Museums Canada, and their work with the church’s archival collections.
This event is hosted by the City of Kawartha Lakes Curatorial, Cultural and Archival Services programs.
