About this Event
Vinovi&Co is a Michigan-based importer of Spanish wines owned and operated by Barcelona native and Wine Goddess, Núria Garrote-i-Esteve. The portfolio is characterized by young, energetic, and passionate winemakers committed to doing things their way: small, sustainably, and with a sense of place. The result is a fresh take on what we’re calling “New Spain” - traditional grape varieties and regions infused with native varieties and lesser known DOs like Bierzo and Ribeiro--and even some ‘Vi de Garatge’ (garage wine!). The winemakers represented by Vinovi&Co’s portfolio highlight projects that are truly born of vision, passion, and rooted in place.
Sean Sutton has been the Sales and Marketing lead for Vinovi&Co since 2022. His love of wine--and in particular Spanish wine--was inspired by his studies in Latin America and Spain. Majoring in Spanish and with a Master's in Spanish Linguistics, Sean studied in Buenos Aires and Valencia where both wine and gastronomy are integral to culture. His favorite part of Spanish culture is the sobremesa, where family and friends stay at the table for hours after a meal, sipping wine and simply connecting.
Sean speaks Castilian Spanish, has two rescue pups and one rescue cat, and is currently renovating a 1920s home in Detroit with his partner and developing an organic community garden on his block.
