About this Event
Join us on Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 PM at the Lewis Latimer House Museum for A Taste of Home: Queens Memoirists on Food and Culture.
Queens, recognized as "the world’s borough," is the most diverse county in the U.S! A Taste of Home is a public reading event that celebrates this diversity and highlights the borough's racial and immigrant history through the perspective of its residents of color.
The event will showcase readings from six talented writers and alumni of our "Writing on Race and Immigration" Workshop Series, who will share their stories about the food, culture, and vibrant history of Queens, NY.
Guests will also enjoy a live musical performance by Guachinangos — a diverse band from Queens that blends Mexican son jarocho with Colombian cumbia and other Latin American rhythms.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
Join us for this special celebration of culture and community!
