Looking Back and Dropping Names - A talk by actor Andrew Jarvis
A personal history of recollections, reminiscences and anecdotes of what the job has been for an 'ordinary' professional actor over a career of 55 years.
Working predominantly in Theatre, Andrew was fortunate to be part of the last generation of actors who grew up in the Rep. system. As well as performing in many Repertory Theatres across the country, he has also spent a total of 10 years with the Royal Shakespeare Company, 10 years with the English Shakespeare Company and 2 seasons at the National Theatre. He has also performed in the West End over a dozen times.
Andrew has worked in films, television, radio, commercials and voiceovers. For over 30 years, he has taught and directed in drama schools throughout the country - culminating in 3 years as Head of Performance courses at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
By his own admission, his journey has not been that of a star - but rather of a simple jobbing actor. He was once described by the Guardian Theatre Critic Michael Billington as: "Royal Shakespeare Company Warhorse Andrew Jarvis".
Included is an afternoon tea which will be provided after the talk.
This is a supporter event and all profits raised will benefit The Norfolk Hospice.
