Folytatódik a Szabadegyetem! A(z egyik) bibliai teremtéstörténet
Az utolsó őszi ünnepen, szimhát torakor befejezzük Mózes 5. könyvének olvasását, és rögtön újra is kezdjük az éves ciklust a Berésit könyvének első fejezetével, a teremtéstörténettel. Teremtéstörténettel márpedig jól állunk, a Tóra első fejezeteiben rögtön kettő is van belőle. Más bibliai könyvek, ha homályosan is, de azt sejtetik: volt ennél több is. Ezen az előadáson a Tóra első fejezetét fogjuk elemezni, és a meglepetések már az első sornál kezdődnek, ugyanis nem a megszokott „Kezdetben teremtette Isten az eget és a földet” fordítással találkozunk.

Az utolsó magyar nyelvű, teljes zsidó Tórafordítás és kommentár még a soá előtt jelent meg. A Bálint Ház és a Mozaik Zsidó Közösségi HUB együttműködésével megvalósuló előadássorozat bemutatja a készülő új Tórafordítást és annak kommentárját. (A fordítási projekt a Mazsihisz és az OR-ZSE együttműködésének gyümölcse.) A bibliai szöveg és az új kommentár közös olvasásán, megvitatásán keresztül próbáljuk mélyebben megérteni a Tóra történeteit.

Who is Azazel? – The Secrets of the Yom Kippur Torah Reading
The Torah, to put it mildly, takes a rather hostile stance toward serving any deity, idol, or entity other than the Eternal – as such acts are punishable by death. In fact, in most cases, a Jew is obligated to choose death rather than serve another god (so much for the myth that "the most important value in Judaism is life"). Yet, from the Torah portion read on the holiest day, Yom Kippur, it seems as if the Eternal has a legitimate rival. The lecture will reveal whether this is indeed the case.
About Dr. Gábor Balázs’s Lecture Series:
On the Torah – with Commentary and a Different Perspective
The last complete Jewish Hungarian translation and commentary on the Torah was published before the Shoah. This lecture series, organized in cooperation between Bálint Ház and the Mozaik Jewish Community HUB, introduces the new Torah translation and its commentary currently being prepared. (The translation project is a collaboration between Mazsihisz and OR-ZSE.) Through reading and discussing the biblical text and the new commentary together, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the stories of the Torah.
