About this Event
Join us for an evening at Circle Cinema as we present a special screening of a powerful, award-nominated drama about the fight to publish the truth in the face of government secrecy. (For legal reasons, we can’t use the movie’s name in this invitation but it’s titled after the legendary Washington, D.C. newspaper that rose to fame by uncovering Watergate.)
This unforgettable story highlights the vital role journalism plays in defending democracy and holding power to account. This screening is more than a night at the movies. It’s a chance to connect with the importance of trustworthy, independent local news right here in Tulsa. The event is hosted by Tulsa Flyer, a new digital daily covering communities across the city. The Oklahoma Eagle, a historic publication serving Tulsa's Black community, is the Flyer's sister publication. Be among the first to learn about our mission, meet members of our team, and hear how we’re reimagining local news and information for our city.
Event Highlights:
Special introduction to Tulsa’s new nonprofit news organization, including Executive Editor Gary Lee and our newly appointed CEO.
Exclusive screening in partnership with Circle Cinema.
Learn how you can help shape the future of local journalism in Tulsa.
Stick around after the film for prize giveaways, complimentary drinks, and a chance to meet the Tulsa Flyer team. Whether you’re a film lover, a news junkie, or simply curious about what’s next for Tulsa, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Come for the movie, stay for the celebration, and be part of a new chapter in Tulsa’s story.
