About this Event

A Special Science Cafe coming this October 28, 2024 at Spartanburg Art Musuem. Located in the heart of downtown Spartanburg, South Carolina, and as the only contemporary art museum in the Upstate region, Spartanburg Art Museum provides a unique venue and enriching atmosphere that bridges the worlds of science, faith, and art.

We are honored and excited to bring Dr. Leslie Wickman, a distinguished Astro-Scientist, dedicated Christian believer, gifted author, and inspirational speaker to be our October Scientist!

Did you know that our guest scientist worked as an engineer for Lockheed Martin Missiles & Space for more than a decade? During her tenure, she contributed to NASA's Hubble Space Telescope and International Space Station programs, earning commendations from NASA for her efforts. She was also designated as Lockheed's Corporate Astronaut, earning her the nickname "Rocket Girl."
