Proceeds benefit Rancho’s Compassionate Education Program to help bring students to Rancho Compasión! About 50 kids per week, ranging from primary to high school, from all backgrounds, come to Rancho Compasión to engage with animals, get their hands in the soil in the new Compassion Garden, and learn about how they can be caring change makers for the animals and the food system. Can you imagine what it’s like for a kid who has never had the experience of meeting a cow or seeing how food is grown, to visit a farm sanctuary like Rancho Compasion? Life changing, right? You can make it possible for students to experience that.

Miyoko Schinner is the award-winning chef, author, and founder of Miyoko's Creamery and Rancho Compasión, a farmed animal sanctuary. On the inaugural list of Forbes 50 Over 50, INC. Magazine’s Top 100 Female Founders of 2022, a “Game Changer” by Food and Wine Magazine, and a “Vegan Revolutionary” by UN Women, Miyoko is an epicurean activist who has been working tirelessly for over 30 years to reimagine a food system built on sustainability, equity, and compassion for animals. Through her many cookbooks, enterprises, products, and thought leadership, Miyoko has inspired people across the globe to reconsider their food choices. She has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, Food and Wine, Bloomberg, Washington Post, The Guardian, and most major media platforms.

Rancho Compasión, founded by Miyoko in 2015, provides a loving, lifelong home for rescued farm animals and helps change perception about animals typically viewed as "food". More than 30 volunteers work with a small staff to provide food, shelter, medical and veterinary attention, and socialization for the ten different species that call the sanctuary home, and to provide visitation, volunteer, outreach, and humane education programs to all ages of the public.
