Let's Have a December Used Book Sale This Year – December 7 & 8, 2024 (A December to remember!)The Friends of the Urbana Regional Library are excited to announce our Winter (well, almost!) Used Book Sale! This year, due to library renovations and elections, our usual Fall event has been postponed to December. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, for a weekend filled with fantastic deals on gently used books, DVDs, and more.
Event Details:
Saturday, December 7: 10 AM – 5 PM
Doors open early for FURL members at 9 AM.
Sunday, December 8: 1 PM – 5 PM
This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on holiday gifts for the book lovers in your life or to find some cozy reads for those chilly winter nights. As always, proceeds from the sale directly support the Urbana Regional Library's programs, services, and staff.
On Sunday 12/8 during the final hours, we often do our “Books in a Bag” promotion when you can fill up a tote bag with as many books as you want for $5. Check our Facebook page for updates during the sale.
Location:
The sale will be held at the Urbana Regional Library, Lower Level Community Room at 9020 Amelung Street, Frederick, MD 21704. Don't miss out on the chance to explore a vast selection of books, with most priced at just $1 or less! DVDs will also be available at an unbeatable price of 10 for $5.
Donations & Membership:
We accept gently used book donations year-round, so if you have items to donate, feel free to drop them off at the library’s circulation desk. You'll receive a tax-deductible receipt for your donation. Additionally, consider joining or supporting the Friends of the Urbana Regional Library with a $10 lifetime membership. Membership comes with early access to book sales, and while volunteering is always welcomed, it is not required. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month.

How to Get Involved:
If you’d like to lend a hand during the sale or in other capacities, we’d love to have you join our team of dedicated volunteers. Every little bit helps, and it’s a great way to meet fellow library lovers and give back to the community. Leadership positions are available!
