The remarkable Doppelgangster comes to the Festival of Critical Comedy 2025...
A SOUND LIKE THUNDER
by Doppelgangster (UK/AUS)
An hilarious and experimental theatre show about meteors, UFOs, and tales of buried gold in an extremely fictional town called Shepparton, VIC (but in East Melbourne).
Behind a line of striped Do-Not-Cross tape, armed with official and unofficial historical records, riotous stage trickery, and both ends of a pantomime cow, Doppelgangster reenact the the first ‘play’ staged in Shepparton in 1869. Or was it 1969. Or is it 2069. It's not a real town. Trust no one.
A Sound Like Thunder is anti-historical reenactment theatre and nothing will get in the way of a good story.
A Sound Like Thunder by Kerith Manderson-Galvin, Tobias Manderson-Galvin, and Dr Tom Payne, was initially presented for Shepparton Festival (2025).
All included in Awkward Giraffe's Festival of Critical Comedy 2025. This is a free event but we do encourage donations.
