In recent years there has been a renewed interest amongst young left wing people in trade union activism. And no wonder! Corporate fat cats are making record profits while working class people are forced to work harder and faster for less pay and worsening conditions. This talk, introduced a long standing trade union activist, will explore how a focus on rank and file unionism and socialist politics is key for building a renewed trade union movement.
Speaker: Jerome Small has been involved in trade unions for his whole working life, particularly as a construction worker in Victoria. He has been a candidate for the Victorian Socialists and is the Industrial Organiser for Socialist Alternative.
