About this Event
On October 26, 2024, we are hosting our A Small Group Intensive with Peter Block to explore the social architecture of creating community, connection, and change. This is an opportunity to practice bringing the means of engagement into your community. Please join us!
What is the Intensive?
Join us at the Cincinnati Civic Garden Center for an immersive learning experience featuring 6 Conversations practices with Peter Block and the ASG team*. It is offered for people who want to deepen their understanding of engagement and the six conversations that offer structure for belonging. Listening well, asking powerful questions, and practicing curiosity are key elements of these conversations.
After an invigorating morning of deep learning and connection with Peter Block, you will join us for an afternoon in Open Space. This session is designed to harness and amplify the energy, learning, couriousities, and connections you've cultivated. We will invite you to self-organize into conversations that spark your passion. Whether it's insights from the six conversations or emerging ideas, this is your opportunity to dive deeper into what matters most to you.
Throughout the day, the ASG team will share stories of how they use ASG conversations in their personal and professional work.
Pre-work: It is not required. We recommend reading Peter Block's "Community the Structure of Belonging." It is available at most public libraries, bookstores, and online. We offer our Civic Engagement booklet as a free download from our website. (https://www.asmallgroup.net/wp-content/uploads/CES_jan2007.pdf) Either of these will help you to begin to prepare for the experience.
WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID ABOUT THE ASG INTENSIVE EXPERIENCE
- I was a complete stranger to the group and I was surprised how that did not make any difference at all. Because of the design of The Six Conversations, we could converse on a real level... without already knowing each.
- I was surprised at how open, honest, and engaged that people were.
- How it was easy to form a connection with the people in small group. It was important because it felt genuine.
- How quickly we connect. Peter's questions work.
- It left me wanting more.
Cost: The cost is $58, your time and commitment. This includes lunch. We remain committed to offering scholarships, so please reach out if the increased cost would prohibit your participation.
We look forward to you joining us!
