SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate - If you have created a buttercream cake before then you have all you need to complete this class!
Camilo Murcia has been blazing a unique trail through the buttercream cake world in recent years. From pioneering the fault line trend, to mastering a faux velvet look using only buttercream, Camilo's talents know no bounds!
We're thrilled to have Camilo back to teach another of his incredible cake designs - A Slice of Positano! This class will also feature Camilo's signature silky smooth, eggless Australian buttercream!
Come along to our one day workshop and learn from one of Australia's most talented cake decorators.
During this workshop you will learn the following;
> How to make By.Aletoso’s signature Australian buttercream
> How to stack and crumb coat a square cake
> How to achieve very sharp edges on your cakes
> How to sculpt buttercream
> How to work with stencils on a buttercream cake
> How to work with wafer paper (flowers and leaves)
> How to paint using an airbrush
> How to create realistic sugar elements
> Plus lots of tips and techniques for making a perfect cake

WHAT IS SUPPLIED?
We provide all of the supplies and equipment for use on the day. Refreshments and a light lunch will also be provided.
Students will leave with their beautifully decorated cake to share and enjoy.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You are welcome to bring note pad, pen and a water bottle. These are not compulsory and completely up to you.
Please ensure that you wear fully enclosed shoes and that long hair is tied back for class.
CLASS SIZE:
We restrict this course to a maximum of ten students per course. This gives you a better learning experience with our instructor.

ABOUT CAMILO MURCIA:
Originally from Colombia, Camilo has lived in Brisbane for over 10 years. His career as an industrial designer and qualification as a chef has enabled Camilo to create amazing architecturally inspired designs, making the most from shape, texture and explosions of colour.
Camilo creates edible contemporary art through his business By.Aletoso and his masterful use of buttercream and wafer paper. His incredible creations are world renowned and each is true to his mantra, "be unique".

Our council registered commercial kitchen/classroom is maintained and cleaned in accordance with strict COVID-19 guidelines.
Social distancing practices and additional cleaning and hygiene measures will be taken during classes.
If there are changes due to government updates, we will contact all students to advise of their options.
