From January 14 through February 22, peruse the Tucson J Fine Art Gallery for A Sense of Place with Russell Kahn. Enjoy pastels, drawings, prints, and ceramics of the natural world through the artist's eyes. "It's an exploration of where one is and lives in this moment and time."
A reception featuring light refreshments and community engagement will be held on Thursday, January 22 from 6-7:30pm with a special presentation by the artist at 6:30pm.
About Russell Kahn
Russell Kahn is an artist and educator with over 35 years of experience teaching and creating art in the Southwest and New England. Raised in New York City and Cincinnati by parents from Israel, South Africa, and Austria, he draws on diverse cultural influences. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, earned his teaching certificate from Tufts, and completed a master’s while teaching on the Navajo Nation. Kahn has taught in Arizona and Maine and now teaches in Tucson. He works in printmaking, drawing, pastels, and ceramics, emphasizing creativity, personal voice, and the value of mistakes.
