International Book Award winner Sohrab Homi Fracis leads a special lecture-style workshop for writers on Friday, September 20, during Jax Book Fest "Writer's Day." He will start with a "show and tell" approach, via passages from his award-winning books, and then explain how these short scenes evoke both the homeland left behind by his protagonists and the new land they are making their own.

Sohrab Homi Fracis’s book, True Fiction, won the 2023 International Book Award for story collections. Ticket to Minto won the Iowa Short Fiction Award, juried by the legendary Iowa Writers Workshop and described by the New York Times as "among the most prestigious literary prizes America offers." It was the first book by an Asian American to do so. Stanford University Libraries shortlisted his novel, Go Home, for the William Saroyan International Prize.
Jax Book Fest is Jacksonville Public Library’s signature literary event, bringing book lovers of all ages together to meet their favorite bestselling authors and to discover up-and-coming local authors from right here in Florida. For a complete schedule of events, visit jaxlibrary.org/bookfest.
