Your ticket gets you delicious Bob Sykes Bar-B-Q, live music, and fun for the whole family! You can also cover the cost of additional meals for our unhoused brothers and sisters, who will also join us for the meal and entertainment.
A Seat at the Table is presented by Stewardly Advisors and benefits Urban Purpose, a Christ-centered ministry that seeks to empower Birmingham's homeless and hurting population by building relationships, meeting needs in crisis, and rebuilding lives.
You'll find their day shelter, the Compound, nestled in the heart of downtown Birmingham. It's a home for the homeless to grab a hot shower, do their laundry, watch TV, or play a board game. Urban Purpose also provides the homeless with shelf-stable food, a clothing closet, and hygiene kits, in addition to periodic special events like live music and wellness checks.
Urban Purpose meets people where they are without expecting anything in return... and believes that everyone deserves a Seat at the Table.
Simple, dignified solutions open the door to meaningful relationships and a willingness to explore long-term solutions like addiction recovery programs, transitional housing, employment programs, and other opportunities that help Urban Purpose clients achieve their goals for a full life.
