The Sacramento Master Singers invite you to a moving and joyful celebration: A Season of Gratitude. This special concert honors Dr. Ralph E. Hughes, who has led the ensemble with passion, purpose, and artistry for an incredible 40 seasons. In gratitude for the trust and support of the community, Dr. Hughes has curated a program of signature pieces that reflect the choir’s rich legacy under his direction.
Highlights include:
Ken Medema’s I Will Sing Hallelujah
Alice Parker’s stirring Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye
Gabriel Fauré’s elegant Cantique de Jean Racine
The centerpiece of the program is Ola Gjeilo’s luminous Sunrise Mass, a transcendent work for choir and strings that captures both reflection and hope.
In true Hughes fashion, the program also looks to the future, featuring new works making their debut with the ensemble.
Join us at the Harris Center as we celebrate 40 years of choral excellence, artistic vision, and heartfelt gratitude. This is more than a concert—it’s a milestone. Don’t miss it!
