About this Event
This event brings together six poets from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their latest and upcoming works. Through their readings and discussions to create a tapestry of stories and emotions that transcend borders. These six poets are Anna Yin, DC Reid, Allan Briesmaster, Bunny Iskov, Clara Blackwood and Ling Ge.
Anna Yin was Mississauga’s Inaugural Poet Laureate (2015-2017) and won awards in Canada, USA and China. Her poems and translations appeared at ARC Poetry, New York Times, Queen’s Quarterly, CBC Radio etc. Her 10th book: Truth in Slant will be published by Frontenac Press in 2025.
DC Reid is a Canadian writer and poet with 17 books. He has won silver in the Bliss Carman Award twice and twenty-five other awards. His recent book is What We Do Not Know (2024)
Allan Briesmaster is a freelance literary editor and publisher. He has authored 10 poetry books and the recent one is Later Findings (2024) He gives talks, workshops across Canada.
I.B. (Bunny) Iskov is the former Poetry Reviews Editor for People’s Poetry Letter and the Founder of The Ontario Poetry Society, established in 2000 . Bunny has received various awards for her effort to promote poetry.
Clara Blackwood is a poet and visual artist. She is the author of three poetry books. Her recent book is Pomegranate Heart (2023) with Ekstasis Editions. She hosts a reading series in Toronto.
Ling Ge is an emerging immigrant writer based in Toronto. Her poems have appeared in Pinhole Poetry, Ribbons, Wales Haiku Journal etc. Her debut poetry chapbook, Snow Flowers, will be released by Anstruther Press in spring 2025.
