This great event is co-presented by Moorestown 250, Saving Historic Moorestown, and the Historical Society of Moorestown and will happen rain or shine. Help us celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary, the Semiquincentennial, by journeying through time to the Revolutionary War period of 1775-1783. Tour several of Moorestown's oldest homes which stood during the Revolution. We call these homes "Witness Houses.” There are just 19 of them still standing, although some are in danger of being demolished by developers. Several “Witness Houses” are clustered on Main Street. Others are scattered throughout the area where farms used to be.This is a rare opportunity for an inside tour of a handful of these historic homes, as well as a tour of the grounds of several more. Tickets for this one-day event are $30 each; children under 12 are free. Advance tickets can be purchased online on Shopify or in person at Moorestown True Value Hardware Store, 300 Mill Street. Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the event at the Smith-Cadbury Mansion, 12 High Street. All tickets are considered a charitable donation and no refunds will be issued.
On the day of the event, present your Shopify purchase confirmation at the recreated Moore's Tavern, which will be found at its original location, now The Bank of Princeton, 253 W. Main Street (at the corner of Main and Union), to receive a paper copy of the ticket and the tour map. However, tickets purchased at Moorestown True Value Hardware will already include the map; therefore, store purchasers will not need to report to Moore's Tavern.
All ticket-holders will receive a 10% discount on lunch or dinner at participating restaurants.
NOTE: Visitors should wear walking shoes and keep a fully charged phone with them in order to access the full interactive experience of this tour.
