about the event:


‘a return to self’ is a series of 4 wellness gatherings for women (trans, cis) and non-binary folks of color in July & August 2024. our purpose is to foster community connection amongst women of colour in Toronto through activities that explore wellbeing in a culturally relevant and trauma sensitive manner.

the series begins with a gathering in High Park, we'll take a scenic walk through the park to a location for yoga. then, we'll do a 60 minute yoga flow complete with some breathwork.

after yoga, we'll have time to eat some light picnic foods and connect!

  • a yoga mat
  • comfy, sweat-wicking athletic clothes you can move in
  • water bottle!!
  • small towel or picnic blanket (optional)

  • we will be walking on both grass and trails and pathways to get to the location


<h4>movement:</h4>

vinyasa yoga combines flowing sequences with powerful poses, enhancing stamina and flexivility. each movement is connected to breath. prepare for a sweat and to leave feeling open and invigorated.



about the facilitator:


nia oh (she/her) is a 200hr yoga instructor and 200hr meditation guide. she's a dedicated student of life, yogi, musician, registered nurse and a serial entrepreneur. her mission is to be a vessel of healing for those around her.

**true nature is a safe space dedicated to bipoc bodies, of all sexual orientations, and heritages. harassment, racism, queerphobia and other forms of hatred or exclusion will not be tolerated. this is conscious invitation of respite for bipoc women (trans,cis) and non-binary folks.

*true nature will be hosted on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga, and Wendake-Nionwentsïo.
