Kit Gilbert (1943–2024) was an abstract artist whose work was deeply influenced by the natural landscapes of Louisiana and Texas, where she spent her early years. Known for her use of acrylics, photographs, and mixed media, Gilbert’s art blended organic forms with expressive lines, grids, and circles, reflecting her fascination with both nature and modern life. Drawing on abstract expressionism, her pieces conveyed a sense of emotional depth and complexity, often inviting viewers into a layered, introspective experience.
