Please join the Fall 2025 class of ‘SEAS 455: Philippine Music Ensemble’ with lecturer, Gean Vincent Almendras, at the University of Michigan, for an evening recital of Indigenous and Traditional music from the Philippines. This recital will feature several pieces of gong and percussion ensemble music from the Meranaw and Maguindanao Indigenous communities of the southern Philippines; to be followed by folk songs and serenades from the Rondalla ensemble that derived from the Spanish colonial period.
