The next A Reason to Listen, Humboldt’s longest-running live poetry event, is happening Thursday, October 2 at 7pm at Septentrio’s Barrel Room in Arcata (935 I Street). Our Featured Poet will be Kimi Sugioka, Poet Laureate of Alameda and author of two books of poems, most recently Wile and Wing (Manic D Press). Sign-ups for the open mike section of the evening begin at 6:30 pm. Live music by the amazing DJ Goldylocks. Live art by the inimitable Dre Meza. The cover is a sliding $7-10 at the door: cash or Venmo. Copies of Sugioka’s books will be available for signing and purchase
