About this Event
‘A Proper Working-Class Sausage Roll’ arrives at the Actors Theatre after its sold-out nights in February at the Bread and Roses in London (because one sausage roll is never enough)! This absurd-ish comedy-drama follows ‘Holder’, a disgruntled working-class parent, in the aftermath of accidentally kidnapping a Member of Parliament whilst buying a sausage roll.
Fed up with the system working against them, Holder tries to educate the captured politician on their experiences in life – only to find the Captive's attempts to debate their way out of custody leading them down a path exposing the privilege, corruption, and idiocy that exists at the heart of British Politics. #ProperSausageRollPlay delves into the U.K. class system; exploring financial privilege, social injustice, and hypocrisy from all sides of the political spectrum; all amongst some sexual innuendo and references to baked savoury goods.
Audience Warnings: We recommended that the show should only be watched by people over the age of 14 due to the use of strong language from the offset.
