About this Event
You know how to get on the internet and have fun. You can watch movies and check your social media accounts...but do you know how to do things online? Are you ever frustrated by not being able to find something when you search for it? Have you ever been stumped trying to upload a file or sending a document and you can’t figure out why it...won’t...just...work? Do you know how to tell the difference between a shady clickbait site with bad info and a good one? Can you translate what you're looking for in the real world to the language you need to find it online? The Douglass Technology Center has got you covered!
Come in to learn how to do useful stuff on the internet. Every class will start with some basic tips and tricks for effective search strategies, evaluating sources, and red flags to watch out for, then will move on to specific topics based on feedback from the students. You’ll learn things like how to look up the owner’s manual for your car, find repair parts for a specific appliance, locate your new polling place, resize files, upload documents, contact your local school board, save documents securely, and more!
This is a beginner-level class suitable for ages 14 and up. You don’t need to bring any materials with you to the class.
