WAAPA is delighted to have West Australian Opera’s Artistic Director, Christopher van Tuinen, conducting the choir in a French-inspired program of works. Gounod’s Missa de Sancta Cecilia, with one foot in the church and the other in the opera house, forms the emotional core of the evening. Counterpointing this are the sublime sounds of Gregorian chant, a ravishing song cycle by Louis Vierne, motets by Maurice Duruflé, and a movement from Louis Vierne's gothic-inspired Mass.
