As a practicing psychologist, university professor, researcher, and intelligence test author, I have concluded that we can increase validity and equity by embracing a second generation of intelligence tests. I will summarize what I have learned over the last 50 years along with research findings that clearly demonstrate we can improve this technology by reconceptualizing intelligence according to the PASS neurocognitive theory. The key is to measure thinking in a manner that is not confounded by knowing.

Learning Objectives
- Gain a research-based perspective on the state of the art of intelligence testing.
- Be able to use current research to select the most valid and equitable measures of intelligence.
- Learn how to use PASS theory for diagnosis, fair assessment, and intervention.
