William Campbell, composer & pianist presents “A Pause for Beauty," a contemplative concert of original music for solo piano and electronics. Blending classical elegance with ambient textures and heartfelt emotion, his music invites listeners into a spacious, prayerful quiet—what The Echo described as “light shining through.” This free concert is open to all, with donations supporting our St. Philip’s Food Pantry.
Known for his appealing, genre-fluid approach that blends classical lyricism and post-minimalism with threads of jazz and ambient pop, Campbell creates soundscapes that are both deeply human and transcendent. His solo piano works stand alone as emotional and cinematic experiences, resonating far beyond any one tradition. His 2023 album Together We Rise debuted at #11 on the Classical Crossover charts and has been hailed as “profoundly mellow, soothing, and inspiring” (The Echo), with National Public Radio noting its call to “reflect on the world around us.”
Audiences can expect an uplifting, meditative evening featuring selections from Together We Rise and All In Due Time, described as “anthemic, revealing thick, rich chords... the effect of light shining through.” (The Echo) Campbell’s music speaks to beauty, hope, and resilience—qualities sorely needed in today’s world. Campbell shares:
“This music is for anyone seeking deep relaxation, healing, connection, or just a moment of beauty. It’s about pausing to notice what’s good and meaningful—even amidst uncertainty.”
Campbell has received numerous awards and nominations for his concert and film music and is also a sought-after educator and speaker. This concert is part of a special weekend residency by Campbell in Tucson and offers an opportunity for the community to engage with one of contemporary music’s most sincere and uplifting voices.
