Drama concludes a trilogy of works addressing loss, friendship, and dance. The work takes place in a tragicomic sphere between concrete references and fragile, abstract forms. The drama extends beyond the curtain’s edge without imposing a clear narrative or a definitive plot.Caught in the folds of a two-dimensional plane, the two dancers meet the formality of the moment through humour, subtlety and suspense. The work is built of duets that hold the quotidian within a carefully shaped structure. Drama operates like a collage—a sequence of unresolved acts and articulations of absences. Its realm is the flipside, where humor and grief are carried by the same form.
In the trilogy, friendship is a condition and a driving force, arising from bonds that produce both the intent and the structures of the work. The performances are built from an archive of set material, with phrases learned by heart. It’s a process that moves between what is felt, embodied, and remembered, and the intricate craft of learning a dance.

Anna Lea Ourø and Amalia Kasakove form the artist duo A Ourø / A Kasakove that resides in the field of dance and choreography. As a duo, they have created a trilogy of works addressing loss, including the earlier pieces Sure and Just Ok, leading up to the latest work, Drama. They have both received a Bachelor in Dance and Choreography from The Danish National School of Performing Arts (2017).
