HOPE FOR COMMON GROUND AND THE COMMON GOOD - A 2024 Election Forum
The Oakland Catholic Worker, in collaboration with the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, the Franciscan School of Theology at the University of San Diego and St. Theresa and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Churches is offering a forum in preparation for this year’s November elections. This forum is non-partisan, and is intended to offer participants an opportunity to pray, share and learn more about how People of Faith can utilize our Faith and the principles of Catholic Social Teaching as a primary lens for discernment over a candidate.
The forum shall include presentations by Julie Hanlon Rubio, Ph.D, the Shea-Heusaman Professor of Christian Ethics and Associate Dean of the Jesuit Graduate School of Theology at Santa Clara University, Deacon Jeffery Burns, Ph.D, Associate Professor of US Church History at the Franciscan School of Theology and Sister Anne Carrabino, SSS, Executive Director at the Oakland Catholic Worker.
Refreshments, fellowship and informal sharing to follow the presentations.
