Please meet us at 5:30pm at the vehicle gate entrance to the cinema field on Herbert Service Road, just up the hill from Ash Hill Primary School. Free parking is available on the surrounding residential roads. The nearest postcode is HP13 7HW.
The Walk:
Join ranger Jo for a wander around the beautiful wildflower meadows of Gomms Wood nature reserve, not just a woodland but home to some of the best areas of Chalk Grassland in Wycombe. This habitat, once widespread in the Chilterns, boasts some rare and beautiful wildflower species, including orchids. Come along to see some of these species for yourself, find out what you can do to encourage them if you have a garden, and what Chiltern Rangers are doing to increase the numbers of wildflowers in our nature reserves. Some of the meadows are on steep slopes with some uneven ground.
What to Bring:
Wear clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy footwear.
Ensure you have some water to drink, especially if hot
