Immerse yourself in stories, music & art from the Silk Road. The evening includes a silent auction to raise much needed funds for the Asylum Seekers Centre at Newtown.

Archaeologist Dr Iain Shearer has spent 25 years excavating, researching and travelling Central Asia, the Middle East and the Balkans.
Iain is a Research Affiliate at University College London, Islamic scholar at V&A Museum and former Sackler scholar for Afghanistan and Iran. Iain will help unravel the history of the Silk Road, a network of roads from China to the Mediterranean which facilitated the spread of trade, art, religion and ideas across the Eastern and Western worlds.
Bukhu is an Australian-based ARIA nominated Australian & Mongolian musician and singer-songwriter. He blew us away when he appeared in the 9th season of The Voice Australia.
Bukhu combines virtuosic Morin (Horse Head fiddle) with harmonic throat singing to transmit the harmony of Mongolian nomads and Shamanic culture. Bukhu graduated as a master student of the Mongolian Music & Dance Conservatory in 2007. He was granted Australian residence on a Distinguished Talent Visa as an internationally recognised artist with exceptional and outstanding contributions to the arts.
Suzanne Rosa is a Behaviourist, Moderator and Curator who works with people to build relationships in community, government and not for profits.
For the past 4 years Suzanne has provided her expertise to IW4R events, facilitating workshops, conversations and fundraisers.
IW4R is extremely grateful to Suzanne.
Tickets include canapes and light meal by PlateitForward. Drinks can be purchased at the bar. The silent auction includes beautiful miniature paintings, silks & ceramics from the Silk Road, plus gourmet & beauty products from nearer to home.
